Homework 10-30-17

Homework 10/30/17

Monday
·         Read for 20 minutes.

·         We have been studying Oregon, and now we will be making our dough maps on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.  The special project homework is to measure, cut, and bring in a 12 inch by 18  inch piece of sturdy cardboard or thin board.  If using cardboard, please make sure there are no folds or creases so it will provide a sturdy base.

·         Math options: Bridges Home Connection Sheet, or IXL Multiplication D12, D13, D14 (estimating products)

Tuesday   

·      Bring in your piece of cardboard or wooden board for dough maps that we are doing on Wednesday!

·         Happy Halloween!

Wednesday
·         Read for 20 minutes
·         Directions: For each subject listed in the chart on the back of this page, fill in details for each of the five senses. Be sure to use details that really appeal to the senses. Your goal is to help the reader actually feel, see smell, taste, or hear what you are describing.

Thursday
·         Read for 20 minutes
·        pick your favorite subject from the chart on the back, and include your details in a descriptive paragraph.  Attach your writing to this sheet.

Monday

  • Spelling- practice test: write missed words. (Spellingcity.com is great too)
  • Fact practice
  • Joke Jar:  Please find an appropriate joke for our Joke Jar.  These jokes can come from the internet with help from your parents. You can also find jokes in books, or write a good one you know.  Write it on a small scrap of paper.  When we need to laugh, we draw out a joke and the author reads it to the class.

Tuesday
  • Read 15 minutes/Parent Initials: ________________
  • Spelling- practice test: write missed words
  • Fact practice
  • Sentences:  A sentence is a group of words that tells a complete idea.  The words are in an order that makes sense.  A sentence begins with a capital letter.  Many sentences end with a period.  On the back of this paper, write 3 original sentences about yourself.  Remember to start with a capital and end with a period, question mark, or exclamation mark.

Wednesday

  • Fact practice
  • Spelling: Practice for test Friday.
  • Number Bonds of 10: Write all of the number bonds of ten on the back of this paper.  Example:10= 9+1
